Use these to initiate fights and then follow up with more ranged firepower until you are comfortable with melee combat.Ī good starter for this combat is the zaku II F2, and buying the ballistic weapon MMP-78 Anti AIR from the shop for it and changing to that. Weapons like grenade launchers, bazookas/rocket launchers, sturmfausts, and bigger beam weapons instantly stun enemies on hit, or with explosive ones nearby if you shoot the ground. Use a ranged general to start with, learn how to counter enemies and just focus on shooting them. D rated, yay.ĭR TL: just stick with a simple 3-weapon general unit and try to feed less I don't think you can customize who you fight (its always GM for me) but the AI does move and stuff.Īdvanced tutorials and Battle simulators also have bots.Īs a newbie who never touched console version before, at least that's how I got myself to the point where I feel like I am improving. Pick "free practice" and turn on enemy AI. Find a weapon that you can land consistently.Īnd you can practice with bots. Just because bazookas are considered good, it doesn't mean you will like it. You dont get high score that way but at least you are doing damage and are contributing. If you are bad at aiming like me, you can always wait for a stagger from your teammates. Its hard to bait people into it and it works occasionally. Some units have some weird trick weapons like that one dom that drops bomb AROUND itself. just switch to another weapon for an extra hit when you get a stagger. If melee-ing somehow doesn't click with you, you can play a unit that has multiple sub weapons. Don't swap to raid/support just because the team needs one. Good raid players can still farm you but at least you are not at an disadvantage. learn the basic like one beam stagger > 2-hit or 1-hit melee. Stick with general units with simple weapons like GM custom. Or you can just run into a general player who can play. Some good support players will also hunt you since they have advantage over you and they know you are new. with raids, you are supposed to go after supports but general units will probably get to you first. Any way to effectively improve an understanding of the game?ĭont play raids as beginners. The game is great, but getting blown up 6 times a match and losing 9/10 matches takes it's toll. Since there is no way to play a custom match with bots, I don't know how to train and improve with my MS selection and learn maps in an identical match setting, instead all I can do to improve is quick play (and fail connecting 4/5 times),hit 12th of the match board every time and try to find some kind of lesson in there. I understand the raid/general/support thing, but with everyone as a general or support, raids seem to be in a challenging spot (4 generals and a support doesn't bode well), so I mainly go with general and try to back up the team, but don't know the maps and get singled out very fast. Every match I've done I'm either carried or annihilated horribly, not sure how to get any better. The training was pointless, just a few basics that I now understand, but that's it. However, that in no way diminishes its status as the preeminent unit of the First Neo Zeon War.I love the game, the MS selection and feel of the game are great, but I have no idea what I'm doing, I am completely lost, it doesn't feel like I can even play this kind of game. As a result, it ended up mostly being employed in MS form the usefulness of its combination and transformation capabilities paled in comparison to the MS form's firepower on the field. Its has 3 units' worth of generators, allowing it to equip multiple high-output beam weapons, of which its head-loaded High Mega Cannon boasts firepower far beyond conventional MS weaponry. When joined together, it can transform from its G Fortress cruise mode to the ZZ Gundam, its MS form. Its combination is made up of a Neo Core Fighter (the control unit), a Core Top that forms its upper block, and a Core Base that forms its lower block. A 4th generation MS that sought to retain its place in the generic MS category, while aiming for superior firepower with an integrated combination and transformation mechanism.
